It’s quiet. The moon shines bright in the sky, clouds roll in to give it a chiffon dress. It’s cold and the streets bustle with the unknown of the night. Happy Halloweeb everyone! Can you believe that it’s already been 13 days of Otakutober? It feels like this month has just flown by! We hope you have all been enjoying the spooky content we’ve been providing, and for today, your treat (or maybe trick), is another installment of Trigger Town! Today is part five – Silence of the Weebs. And as always, I’m going to say it loud and clear: SPOILER WARNING. Major spoilers ahead for Demon Slayer, The Summer Hikaru Died, Solo Leveling, and Devil May Cry. Read at your own discretion.
Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Arc
Shinobu died about twenty minutes into this film. With a hug of death after fighting so hard and after we learned basically how she felt so weak her whole life, trying to be strong to protect others. Someone in our theater was so mad they straight-up walked out and never came back.
Solo Leveling
We weren’t super about Solo Leveling at first. Then we watched episode one and changed our minds. This started so fucked up. It began with an extremely brutal massacre of an entire party. We saw these disturbing smiling statues pretty much turn a whole room into pancakes. Shocking.
Devil May Cry
I was like really upset by this one. It happened when Mary tried to save demon refugees and instead her orders were basically overridden and instead the soldiers were instructed to kill the demons they were supposed to protect. They are shot, ones that got into a fan are burned to death. It’s disturbing.
The Summer Hikaru Died
So this isn’t just a death. There are a few moments. Sure, the actual Hikaru’s death. But more than that, when substitute Hikaru had his head literally sliced off. It was SO shocking. I think we both gasped pretty loudly. We also thought it was pretty disturbing whenever the fake Hikaru tried to ‘eat’ or absorb the MC. Or when the MC put his hand in fake Hikaru’s chest…there was just a lot of disturbing shit, okay?!
