Why did we start blogging

We started blogging for a variety of reasons. But mostly because our friends found us to be a wellspring of knowledge on all things weeb but serving it with a comedic/sassy twist. We also wanted to see if we could prove to ourselves that we could possibly make a business out of our weebiness. Because who doesn’t want to do what we love and get paid for it? HAHA. But all in all, once we started we were graciously welcomed into the community and it became more about finally belonging somewhere.

Advice

Check in with yourself about your writing. It’s okay if your focuses change all bloggers should dare to be different. Even though there may seem to be an algorithm that speaks only about blogging and writing a certain way, don’t be afraid to speak your truth. I think a lot of bloggers out there are afraid of starting a fire due to the unpopular opinion and frankly that smashes individuality. Being your best authentic self no matter how people will take it, is a stand for who you are as a writer. Be proud, be confident and worry about the fires later. If that means you need to reevaluate, start a new blog, or take a break then do it! You should be blogging for YOU and if you’re not happy with the way things are change it. I’ve noticed a lot of blogs stop because they can be so hard on themselves with a schedule. If you aren’t happy with the content you are putting out or wearing yourself down then don’t write that week. No one is going to blame you for taking a breather. You will always be your own worst critic so cut yourself some slack.

Blog about passion–that’s probably the best advice I can give. Whatever it is you are writing about, it’s good to be passionate about it (whether those passionate feelings are hateful or good feelings). I often find that the hardest posts that I end up not writing are about things that don’t speak to me–that I don’t feel anything in particular for. But when I’m blogging about seriously passionate feelings in my topics? It’s the easiest thing in the world. And I feel like when I do that, I end up putting more thought into the composition of my posts as a whole (and the banner becomes better–assuming I have enough time to do a fancy-smancy one). Sometimes I watch an entire 6 episodes of an anime from a season only to never post about it because it was just “eh”. I find the most entertaining posts to write (and read!) are filled with passion for the topic. Plus when you’re passionate about what you’re talking about, I feel like not only can the reader tell, but they can also tell you’re having fun. Which blogging should be fun even if it’s work. So I guess, yeah–post about what you’re passionate about–what you want to post about. Was that cheesy? Forgive me if that was too cheesy.

Stay weebtastic, Luna
