Day 3 of Otakutober: OMEGAVERSE – Top 5 Werewolf Women
Hey everyone, welcome to yet another day of Otakutober! This particular post will be about some of the werewolf women we find in anime. In my search, I actually found it incredibly difficult to find characters that actually shift into a wolf. For some reason or another, many of the girls I found have wolf features like ears or a tail but never a full bodied wolf. So for the sake of the post, I’ll mention some here.
Noela from Drugstore from another world
On more than one occasion she shifts into her wolf form throughout the anime. She is a fiery simple-minded character with loyalty like no other.
Blue from Wolf’s Rain
Another interesting fully shapeshifting character who is rather obedient at times. She takes her job rather seriously and holds a lot of honor in her work.
Yuki from Wolf Children
Raising one wolf child is difficult but two is a whole other layer of difficulty. She is the sassiest and most extroverted of the two. She loves to socialize and eat sweets.
Eruru from Uwaterumono
This is one of the wolves I found who doesn’t fully shapeshift but she is the most caring and nurturing out of the group.
Fushi from To your Eternity
Actually shapeshift a lot as a woman as well as a man so they will be included here. In the time that they were a wolf they discovered what it was like to love and be loved later then later used the form as a means to fight.
Honorable mention: Princess Mononoke
So she identifies as a wolf because she’s been raised by wolves. She doesn’t shapeshift or have any wolf features. But in her heart and spirit she is a wolf.
This was an interesting study that I’m glad I had the pleasure of learning. Perhaps we’ll see more werewolf females in the future.
