Day 3 of Weebsmas: Family Friendly Anime Recommendations

Welcome back to another day of Weebsmas! We are here to give another recommendation list for you all! As a reminder we collaborate on these posts to give you a wider range of selections of, this time, Family-friendly Anime for everyone to watch. We consider these as great first-step introductions into anime for kids as well as adults that like light-hearted humor.

Spy x Family

Honestly, part of me thinks it’s a family friendly anime simply because it focuses on a family. When you combine a Spy–Twilight, an assassin–Yor, and a little girl telepath—Anya, you get a fun action anime for the full family to enjoy. This has a little of everything–comedy, romance, suspense, and action. I feel like all genders and all ages can be pulled to this story as it’s easily digestible and entertaining no matter who you are.

Oh, suddenly an Egyptian God

This one is very cute, chibi like anthology of what the Egyptian gods are like and have been doing in this day and age. There are no humans in this anime as the gods play and work in their own realms most of the time, but there are some that venture out and give humans things like crops or even judgement upon death. As brutal as the stories in history may be, this serious creates a fluffy and goofy disposition to the gods making it easier for kids to digest.

One Piece

Being one of the biggest shounen anime ever (certainly one of if not the longest the). One Piece is a really good anime to watch with the family because of the found-family aspect. Being pirates, Luffy very often calls his crew his nakama–or family. And that is clear that they all think of each other as such the more you watch this show. It also has a little bit of everything–some comedy, some action, some drama. Everything you’d want out of a fun show for the whole family.

Digimon

You know I’m going to mention Digimon in the family-friendly anime category. After all, this anime features many sibling pairs, friends as family, parents and family relationships, and more. Tackling friendship and family at many levels, Digimon is a fun anime for the whole family. Especially the first season and second seasons.

Soul Eater

Is an oldie but a goodie from the early 2000s. It’s about a group of preteens that live in a world where there are welders and weapons that work together to protect and defeat (sometimes compete) at the Death Weapon Meister Academy. Battling and dueling is their bread and butter in a Halloween town like setting as they fight to become “Death Scythes”. As violent as it sounds there’s actually a lot of teamwork and bubbly dark humor aimed for middle grade kids. This anime’ car is unlikely heroes are surfacing in popularity so I wouldn’t be surprised if you’ve seen a Death the kid, Soul, Maka, Blaire, or Excalibur cosplay.

If this list interests you, you can also check out our Anime Curriculum blog series, there’s so much that anime can teach you. There’s Otaku of all kinds and they make it super fun to learn about their favorite subjects!

See you next time!

xoxo
