Weebsmas Day 10 – How To Upgrade Your Weebsmas Tree (decorations)

On the 10th day of Weebsmas, Luna gave to me — ways to upgrade your Weebsmas tree (or decorations)

First off–you have to admit: I’m getting better at making these openers rhyme. But of course, today’s post lends itself to the rhyming of me and tree–but that’s beside the point. While yesterday Star introduced you to even more terribly weeby ugly Christmas sweaters, today I’m going to give you some tips on how to upgrade your weebsmas decorations–including your tree. But really, these are just some ways we upgraded our own decorations and the best ways you can apply them to.

So one of the things you can do to upgrade the Weebsmas tree–is decide on a better Christmas topper. We always have a plush from one of the conventions we go to. But the problem was that plushies are super hard to keep up there properly. This year, we decided on a more static and smaller decoration–a photocard from a K-pop album. We decided to put a maknae at the top of our tree. The smaller Christmas tree topper has stayed in place and really created a great joke. Another thing we did was actually take down a lot of the bigger plushes. We decided to put those on the ground underneath the tree as decorations and only hang up our two smaller Jujutsu plushes. This really evened out the tree and we invested in more of the smaller keychains and lanyards to create a more even feel. It certainly looks like a proper tree. In the future, we may even begin making it themed–perhaps shonen or shojo theme in particular. We could even make it just all Pokemon or only sword-wielding characters. The possibilities are endless!

Another way we upgraded our decorations was by creating our own 31-day advent calendar on one of our walls. And when I say we, I really do mean Star. She single-handedly came up with this idea and made a truly impressive piece out of a string of lights, some clips, and photo cards. Now we have a string of lights in the shape of a Christmas tree with photocards we flip over every day. While we chose K-pop photocards, you can very easily make your own advent with any kind of card. We joked about the possibility of putting up Pokemon cards, or even Yu-Gi-Oh cards and then making the advent into a sort of duel disk contraption. Again, there are so many cool things you could do. Even skip the card portion and make it artwork instead–or splash pages. Something that’s really pleasant to look at. If you were really detailed, and you did do playing cards, you could try to place them in some sort of formation that looks like they were being played. But we–we will probably stick with our photo cards. They’re just too good.

Another way to upgrade your weebsmas decorations is to start getting less specifically Christmas themed things and get more winter themed things. Get a banner that says ‘Merry Everything’ (we did). Make one that says Merry Weebsmas (we haven’t). Instead of getting figurines with Santa hats on them, get some New Year ones instead or generically cold weather ones with scarves and hats. It makes things a little less on the religious side of things and instead appreciating of all things weeb.

These are just a few ways we have personally upgraded our living spaces for the Weebsmas holiday. Are they perfect no? There’s still many more ways to make them even better, and we plan to when we move into a bigger place with more space. But for now? We’ve upgraded as weeby as we can. I highly encourage you to upgrade your Weebsmas decorations too and let us know what you did! Share the weebsmas cheer. Until next time.

xoxo

Luna
