Day 11 of Otakutober 2025: Recommended supernatural anime

Witches and warlocks, welcome back to 13 Days of Otakutober! It’s such a lovely fall night as I write this, nice and cold–dark–and we’re inside all nice and cozy. Which means it’s a perfect night for us to catch up on anime with a warm cup of hot chocolate or apple cider. But while we’re here catching up on anime from the year, we thought we’d recommend some more spooky anime, though this time in the theme of supernatural (and unlike Google, no I do not mean the actual Supernatural anime).

Noragami

A classic to us, and a darn shame it never got more than two seasons. Based off folklore and gods, this is a very light-hearted supernatural anime with appropriately dark moments. Also, who doesn’t like a broke god and a moody teenage boy?

Mirai Nikki

I like to forget about this one. On purpose. It’s alright but there are some truly disturbing things in this. Including a perfect, textbook example of a Yandere. And when I say perfect, I really do mean perfect (no matter how horrifying that is).

Jujutsu Kaisen

One of the dark three, there is no universe in which JJK doesn’t deserve to be here. This supernatural show about sorcerers and curses will always keep you guessing and on your toes. Truly iconic. Also very disturbing, but very entertaining.

Dandadan!

If you want to avoid the darker supernatural anime, I would like to present you: Dandadan!. Very funny, kinda vulgar, and with those deep moments that show it’s more than just a joke and really something truly incredible.

Yu Yu Hakusho

An absolute classic. The spirit detective is one of those supernatural anime that you just can’t skip. Even though every arc is pretty much a tournament arc, it will never bore you. It’s toptier fighting, great humor, and amazing characters. Also, the opening and ending slap.

Thanks so much for joining us for the eleventh day of 13 Days of Otakutober! And don’t forget to join us tomorrow for day number twelve! We’re so close to Halloweeb but we still have some great stuff before we revisit Trigger Town on the 31st.

xoxo

Luna
