Welcome back to 13 Days of Otakutober, our annual spooky blog holiday where we bring you “creepy, spoopy, and horrific” anime content leading up to Halloweeb! Today is gonna be a little less on the terrifying side and more on the silly side of things. It’s our annual Halloween costume inspiration guide! Just kidding. It’s more like the trends we’ve been seeing with anime inspired Halloween costumes for the year. So if you’re in need of a last minute, weeby costume, here are some of the most popular for the year!
Ichigo
I found it really funny that Bleach is making such a strong comeback right now. But this is just funny to me because this is basically a black robe and a mask. Essentially an upgraded Scream set.
Blue Lock
I’m sorry but this as a costume looks hilarious to me. No matter the iteration, it just looks like a wetsuit underneath some gym clothes. In the anime it looks decent but the reality is unflattering for sure. No wonder it showed up as 100% off.
Pokemon
Now, Pokemon has always been a popular Halloween costume but these outfits are truly outstanding for how horrible they are. Haunting is the word that comes to mind when looking at the full body zoot suits and the masks that have an eerie, doll-like quality to them. But if you don’t want to be a creepy, Majora’s Mask-esque Pokemon, then you can always get ready to catch em all by being a whole ass PokeBall instead. Depends on the vibes you want to give off that night.
Demon Slayer
Again, this Nezuko costume is truly the creme of the crop. It’s giving, if Nezuko attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Throw in a wand and Gryffindor scarf and you would have the perfect nerdy mashup.
Dandadan
One of the funniest Halloween costumes I have seen recently is both popular and hideous. Okarun seems like an easy one but when you mix bad fabric with a printed on handkerchief and Strawberry swirl Saiyan hair….it’s not the coolest costume to roll up in.
Yu-Gi-Oh!
Honestly, the image speaks for itself. But all I really have to say is that the thick ass eyebrows and eyeliner really make this one from something decent to something cringe.

Jinu
While not exactly anime, I just know this is gonna be a popular one. And so easy! Taking inspiration from our friend, all you need is a pink t-shirt, some light blue jeans and a pink short-sleeved button down. Once you have that, you have your little sodapop.
