It’s Luna again! While you all wait for my next post exploring our Hawaii vacation, I thought I’d take a moment to focus on the anime that is coming for this next seasons in honor of Otaku Thursday. I’ve already done my research and since I can’t watch them all, I decided on just a few to watch for now. So I thought I’d share with you all what I’ll be watching and reviewing for the winter 2019 season.

This anime looks super promising. It feels a little bit like Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, and also like this book series I once read called Triskellion. About an orphanage where things are amiss, this series looks like it’ll be a promising mystery and a spine chilling horror. I’ve heard only good things about this, the trailer looked REALLY good, and I think this is going to be so worth the watch. Not to mention, Neverland gives me Peter Pan vibes and anything that does so, is 100% on my watch list.

There is something about troubled sons that I love. But to be totally honest, what really caught me about Dororo was the idea that the main character’s organs were given to demons, and that he now is hunting down the demons to reclaim himself and stitch himself back together. I thought it was just like the coolest idea, and when I heard they threw in a little orphan for him to travel with, I just died at the idea of them possibly creating a family of sorts. Of course that could be the FARTHEST from the truth, but I think it’ll be worthwhile to watch and see what happens. Plus this is probably going to be an AMAZING action anime.
Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue

Cats. No really, that is why I’m watching this. Anyone who knows me knows I love cats. And this story sound like the perfect thing for someone like me. It tells the story of a novelist (I’m a writer so bonus points for having a relatable main character) and a stray cat he picks up and how they begun living together and the happiness they bring to each others lives. It just sounds like the best thing, is kind of giving me A Girl & her Cat Vibes, and honestly just sounds like something that’s going to be a delight to watch amidst the action and shoujo animes that usually fill all the seasonal anime. I think this is going to be super relatable and worth the watch (and again—cats).
Oh my god. My love. My life. Okay, that might be being a little dramatic, but this series is really great. I’ve loved every iteration of it–the manga, the movie, and the first season of the anime (now streaming on netflix). This is a no brainer that I’m going to watch the second season, and pretty much any subsequent season until the story is over. To me, Piano no Mori is a cute cup-of-tea anime that I would 100% recommend.
3D Kanojo: Real Girl 2nd Season

I loved this manga. The anime so far has been decidedly lukewarm, but I refuse to give up on it. Especially since season 2 will likely feature some of my favorite parts from the manga. I know 3D Kanojo isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I do think it’s a cute story and it’s worth a watch.
So I’m not going to lie. The only reason I’m watching this is because the synopsis really reminded me of one of my favorite shoujo manga’s of all time: Last Game. In Last Game, the male lead is trying to get the female lead to fall in love with him, meanwhile in Kaguya-Sama, it sounds like BOTH are trying to do this (meanwhile they both already have). While I know this isn’t going to be a carbon copy of Last Game, it definitely sounds like it’ll be just as entertaining, and just as romantic. I’m looking forward to seeing this story of these two competing to see just who confesses first. Besides, this story might be the closest to an anime of Last Game I’ll ever get! I’ll DEFINITELY be watching.
So that’s a list of the things that I’ll 100% be watching! Of course I’m still watching leftovers from last season, and I’ll definitely try out a few that weren’t on this list. So let me know in the comments below if there’s something you want me to watch and react on! I’d be happy to.
Until next time!

The Promised Neverland is definitely my pick from the new shows. It may not work out but its had a very solid start to the season. There’s plenty of other anime I’m interested in and My Roommate is a Cat has so far just been adorable and incredibly relatable. Hopefully it will be a fun season.
